Fortunately my youngest child is still at Primary school and as a result she brings home the Primary Times. This is a magazine published quarterly, dedicated to whats on in the area to occupy your children. Obviously, there are a lot of events that Adults will be interested in also. So when I spotted that the local heritage railway was putting on a 1940's weekend it felt like a good idea to visit. Even better that my youngest has been learning about the 2nd World War and especially about evacuation of children from London. So when I gave attached her entry ticket to her which was designed like an evacuee label she was very happy. The sun was very strong and although there was a great atmosphere and many people dressed up in 1940's clothing I found it hard to really capture what I was wanting. It was really my mistake I should of dressed my daughters up. Also as the Steam engine had broken down just as we arrived I was heavily disappointed that only a diesel train was running. Perhaps better luck next time.
