Blog
The first thing I saw this morning was blue sky. Great that meant that spring must be on the way so out came the local maps for a location to walk. I have spent so much time in the forest recently, I wanted a change and since some one at my camera club was chatting about Copped Hall, I thought why not. I knew the Deer where around that area quite a lot and there was some other wildlife to look out for (although I don’t normally do natural history) so we headed out. As soon as we got out the care it became overcast and having selected an area of buffer land this was not ideal having white sky. But we walked on in hope that it would clear. We walked up to the Hall, a building that is being renovated but still has areas of ruins. Although you can not access the main gardens around the building you can walk through buffer land all around.
As we walked behind the Hall, the decaying walls of the gardens really appealed to me. Typically I had the wrong lens on and quickly changed and took a couple of snaps not really feeling to enthused to spend much more time on it. We continued our walk through a tunnel under the M25 and to a couple more creative shots. (not sure while writing this blog how they will work out). Walking through the forest land close to the buffer land we spotted our first Muntjac which made me jump but ran to fast to get a shot of it. Then we saw a small herd Fallow deer, again we hadn’t spotted them first so they we moving away fast. Finally we came across one of the main herds of Fallow, but we down wind and again they scampered before we could get a decent shot. So I am still missing a natural history shot but still I had a great walk.
